Bill Holland is the president of the Association of Oklahoma Nurse Practitioners, and has been acting in that capacity since 1996.  Currently, he practices at the Medford Family Clinic, Medford Oklahoma.   Bill serves on a number of committees that are vitally important to nursing today, including the Oklahoma Health Care Authority and the State Nurse Practitioner Medical Professional Services Committee.

Mr. Holland has received many honors during his nursing career of more than 13 years and another 6 years of EMT experience.  Some of those honors include the Excellence in Reintegrated Nursing-Outstanding MSN Graduate in 1995, Excellence in Professional Nursing Practice- Outstanding MSN Graduate 1995, Who's Who in Nursing 1992,  Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities 1984, and many many more.

INVOLVEMENT is the key and after reading Bill's Curriculum Vitae, I believe that involvement is his middle name.  Bill not only serves nursing well as the President of the ONP, but was very instrumental in the current prescriptive status of our advance practice nurses.  Serving on the Oklahoma Board of Nursing Prescriptive Authority Rules Committee, a long coming piece of legislation was passed.  Our Nurse Practitioners now have Prescriptive Authority.  It is people like Bill Holland that have made nursing what it is today.

Faculty appointments are a vital role in nursing today.  We must continue to promote the highest level of integrity in nursing , as the public demands more competency in our practice than ever before.  More and more persons are recognizing the vital roles of nursing to the world as a whole.  What better way to give something back to your profession than to instruct and precept new nursing students.  Bill is on the faculty of Norwthwestern Oklahoma State University School of nursing, Oklahoma College of Nursing and formerly,  a Faculty Associate through Spring 1994 at the Texas Tech University School of Nursing.

Professional memberships are probably the single most important actions that a nurse can take to promote his or her discipline of health care today.  Bill Holland is a Proud member of the Oklahoma Nurses Association, American Nurses Association, Association of Oklahoma Nurse Practitioners, Phi Kappa Phi, Sigma Theta Tau---Iota Mu Chapter and the Golden Key National Honor Society.  His membership in these organizations ensures us that they will remain strong and play a vital role in nursing today and in the future.

Practicing professional nursing, Bill is licensed in Oklahoma, Kansas, Tennessee, and Texas.  Oklahoma is fortunate to have nurses like Bill Holland:  nurses who view care, a key concept in nursing, not only in the community of individuals he assists in his practice, but in the community of nursing as a professional body.
